Ever since getting the Boy Mechanic books, Nettie and I have been thinking about building a scooter with found parts. We headed out to Urban Ore in search of material and came back with one used skateboard truck and wheels. It’s a start. Nettie also found a jump rope. Around the corner on an abandoned lot, we ran across this DUKW, a WWII-era amphibious vehicle. Although this would make a great restoration project, we decided to stick with the scooter for now.
